It's 5 o'clock somewhere! Hilary Duff has come a long way since her innocent Lizzie McGuire days. Case in point: that daring bikini selfie she posted on Instagram last month. The Younger actress explained why she decided to share the bathroom snapshot with her followers during the Today show on Friday, April 3.
Today co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford were all for her sexy moment, but Duff joked that having a drink helped with the confidence boost. "That was [taken] after a margarita!" she said, blushing.
The "Chasing the Sun" singer — who shares son Luca, 3, with ex-husband Mike Comrie — previously discussed the revealing black ensemble during The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Mar. 30. "I was on a trip with my son, and it's been three years since I had him. I'm just so proud of my body and what it’s done for me."
She added: "It gave me the most beautiful little boy. I feel strong and powerful—and I wanted to inspire other women."
While on Today, Duff also laughed about her new turquoise-colored hair. "I called my publicist and she's like, 'Do we have to?'" she recalled. "I saw my son the next day and he's like, "You're a mermaid Mom.'"
