Jessica Simpson is still perfecting Daisy Dukes 10 years since working the short shorts in 2005’s Dukes of Hazzard. The 35-year-old fashion mogul showed off her toned, tanned legs in a pair of the denim mini’s for a date night with her husband, Eric Johnson, on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Simpson completed her summer ensemble with a pair of espadrilles and a white cardigan over a black tank with her signature hoop earrings. Her hubby, who looked like he got a bit too much sun earlier in the day, opted for a black T-shirt and jeans. The parents to Maxwell, 3, and Ace, 2, dined at Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, Calif.

Simpson’s former trainer Mike Alexander told Shape back in 2009 that to get into shape for her role in the 2005 remake, Simpson watched her diet and hit the gym twice a day.

“I can’t promote squats and lunges and step-ups enough, because those are all exercises that you can do with your own body weight and you can do them anywhere with very little or no equipment,” the man responsible for whipping her into shape shared. Simpson also followed a slow-carb diet and ate only high-protein foods such as grilled chicken, fish, and green vegetables.

Nowadays, Simpson works out with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, and prior to her July 2014 nuptials with Johnson, the songstress went vegan for two weeks, a source previously told Us. As fans are well aware, Simpson lost over 60 pounds in 2012 following the birth of her son while on Weight Watchers.
