Jim, is that you? John Krasinski ditched his white-shirt-and-tie uniform from The Office in favor of a hotter, less-covered-up look for upcoming flick 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
In newly released images from the film, in which he plays a Navy SEAL, the 36-year-old actor is shirtless, wearing nothing but a pair of jeans, and he's totally cut up, showing off an impressive six-pack and toned arms.
“I think there’s a part of you where you become addicted to it. I love feeling strong,” Krasinski said of his new workout routine in the January/February issue of Men’s Health. “You pick up your daughter with ease while everyone else makes a little grunt when they pick up their kids. I walk with better posture and a little more presence. I was more of a sit-in-the-corner guy. Now I’m a lot less of that.”
Krasinski and his wife, Emily Blunt, share 22-month-old daughter Hazel.
The actor added that a big part of getting in shape — he bulked up in just four months for his leading role as Jack Silva — was pushing himself through the rigorous workouts.
“I gotta be honest: It was brutal at times,” he said, crediting celebrity trainer Jason Walsh for his transformation. “We did tons of metabolic work, dragging sleds and all this stuff I’ve seen NFL players do.”
Despite leaving fans open-mouthed at his new physique, Krasinski insists that there’s one important person in his life who isn’t impressed: his wife.
“She hates it,” he told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show on Tuesday, January 5. “She would way prefer to have the doughy guy back.”
