Kim Kardashian is doing some intense gym workouts — and she wants everyone to know!
On Wednesday, December 12, the star shared videos on her Instagram Story of her latest fitness session with her incredibly toned trainer Melissa Alcantara. “You guys, we’re going so hard today,” Kardashian says from behind the camera.
The first segment features Alcantara showing off her impressive six-pack and muscular arms as she gives a tip for their shoulders, abs and cardio workout session. “Assisted, continuous reps are better than no reps at all,” says the pro, who stands in front of stationary equipment and a row of free weights.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 38, then pans her phone to show herself in the mirror wearing a black tank top with matching black leggings and sneakers. She’s also sporting weightlifting gloves.
In the next video, which the KKW beauty mogul labeled “This is what she has me doing,” Alcantara demonstrates 45-degree incline shoulder rows with a weight bar. “Make sure you go over the bench,” the pro advises as Kardashian zooms the camera in her trainer’s tight butt.
Their strength training moves are broken up by Kardashian getting her cardio in by sprinting on the treadmill.
Finally, Alcantara, who runs an $80 “8 Week Body Sculptor Program” through her website, demonstrates one of Kardashian’s extremely effective core-strengthening moves, which also works the glutes and butt. As she kneels on a yoga mat while holding the handles of cable weights, she moves through cat-cow repetitions without her arms touching the ground. Kardashian cheekily labels the slide, “@fitgurlmel says hump the air.”
In June, Don Brooks of Don-A-Matrix training, another pro Kardashian uses, told Us he was working with the star and her husband Kanye West. “They’ve been traveling a lot, but when they come into town we definitely work out together,” he said.
He also noted Kardashian — who got herself into hot water earlier this year for bragging about how she weighed 119 pounds — can credit much of her diet success to consistency. “They’re fortunate enough to have their own private chefs,” Brooks joked. But his nutrition advice is the same for all: “Just stick with your basic fish, turkey, seafood for protein. And then on your carbs, brown rice. Broccoli. Just the basic simple stuff, but it’s about staying consistent.”
