Miley Cyrus is officially comfortable in her own skin. The 2015 MTV VMAs host posed completely nude backstage at the awards show in a new photo published by V magazine.
In the NSFW photo taken in August, the 22-year-old grins from ear to ear while casually sitting in a director’s chair.
In V’s Winter issue, drag queen Laganja Estranja, who performed onstage with Cyrus at the VMAs to debut her new band Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, recalled how there was “no bulls–t” when it came to rehearsing for their raunchy performance.
“We smoked blunts with her dog, Mary Jane, in the backyard and she played her new album while schooling me in music history. Miley told me she wanted to get all these queens together, so I started texting immediately and my sisters stepped up. We spent a whole week working as a collective, which gave us time and a safe space to grow and learn as a community. The last time I was in a place with that many drag queens I FELT VERY ATTACKED, but this was so different because it came from a place of love and being one with the universe,” she recalled before thanking Cyrus.
“I have to thank Miley for f–king s–t up and teaching the nation through alienation, because we can’t do this by ourselves. Nobody can fight for equality or bring visibility to the marginalized singlehandedly,” Estranja concluded in the column. “We have to talk together, work together, create art together, and maybe then we can carve out a solid place in the sun for a once underground subset of society.”
Cyrus donned a bevy of revealing outfits for the show, most memorable being her silver suspender ensemble for the red carpet, which barely covered her nipples. Cyrus previously posed nude for Interview and Paper magazine.
