Is Zac Efron ready to break things off with his High School Musical sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens?
"Believe me, I rack my brain thinking, 'Why am I not out there playing the field?'" Efron, 22, muses in the September issue of Details of his girlfriend of about three years. "One of my buddies was like, 'You have no idea what's going on right now. You're peaking on Ecstasy and you're watching TV.' But it's not in my heart."
And though the Charlie St. Cloud star has no shortage of women lining up to be with him, he assures the mag that he's a one-woman kind of guy.
"Everyone tells me [to play the field]," he says. "I think a lot of guys would enjoy that. But I'm not really like that."
Efron also squashes Internet rumors that his relationship with Hudgens, 21, is just a publicity stunt.
"That's just f***ing insane," he says. "I've never even heard of that happening… It would have been so much easier to call it off a long time ago."
Efron says his relationship with Hudgens is boring. "It's not very interesting and there's no money to be made on it. It's exactly how it should be. It's real."
