For the Jolie-Pitts, making movies is a family affair. Angelina Jolie previously recruited daughter Vivienne to appear as a young Aurora in her summer blockbuster Maleficent, and now she’s enlisted eldest son Maddox to work on her upcoming feature film By the Sea, which costars husband Brad Pitt. Speaking about the romantic drama with DuJour magazine’s Adam Rathe recently, the Unbroken director shared that Maddox, 13, is a production assistant on the movie.

Weird or not, this isn’t the first time Maddox has helped his parents at work. Pitt, 50, previously told ABC News‘ David Muir that his son schooled him on World War II trivia prior to the shoot for Fury.

“I don’t know exactly how to define that love man has with machine, but my son, my oldest son, he could tell you any tank, any bomber…So I got a brief tutorial from him when we started,” the proud dad said.

In fact, all six kids — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne — have great influence on their parents’ choices, both personally and professionally. Even Jolie’s new movie Unbroken, about POW and former Olympian Louis Zamperini, was made with her children in mind.

“In the back of my mind, I wanted to make a film that would help my boys become better men,” she told DuJour. “They know Louie’s story, so I’m able to say to them that it’s not bad to be full of fire — it’s what you choose to do with that fire.”
