The actress, 28, who is pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds, told the August 2016 issue of Marie Claire UK that her little girl doesn’t have to spend any time in the limelight if she chooses not to.

“My husband and I chose a profession and a side effect of that is your personal life is public,” Lively, an L.A. native who now lives with her family in suburban Bedford, New York, told the magazine. “Our child hasn’t had the opportunity to choose whether or not she wants her personal life to be public or not.”

“So in order to give her as much normality as possible, we want her to have a childhood like we had,” the Shallows star added. “We can’t really throw her into the lion’s den that is L.A., not that we really want to.”

When Lively spoke to the American edition of Marie Claire for its July 2016 issue, the Gossip Girl alumna — whose family worked in the entertainment industry — said that she never wanted to be famous as a child.

“I didn’t want to be an actor, because they were all doing it,” she shared. “When you’re the youngest of five kids, you think, Who am I? If this is who they are, and they’re shaping who I am so much, then who would I be? You strive for your own identity.”

While the Lively brood’s roots were planted in Hollywood, her hunky hubby, Reynolds, 39, had an even more “normal upbringing,” in Vancouver, British Columbia, as one of four siblings — a lifestyle she would like her children to experience.

“We want our kids to have the same normal life that we had,” Lively told Marie Claire. “We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had, because we’d feel really selfish.”
