Australian actor Chris Hemsworth had a party in the U.S.A. on Wednesday, May 23. The 34-year-old tweeted a video of himself rocking out to Miley Cyrus’ hit “Wrecking Ball.”
Hemsworth captioned the hilarious post: “What started as a ground breaking music video ended in a savage attack by a cowardly K9. Never work with Kids or animals. #wreckingball #wreckingdog #daddydaycare #murderonthedancefloor @mileycyrus @liamhemsworth.”
The Avengers: Infinity War star was joined by adorable backup dancers: daughter India, 6, his 4-year-old twin boys Sasha and and the family dog. A woman, quite possibly his wife, Elsa Pataky, is heard laughing in the background. (Spoiler alert: the pooch derails the performance!)
Hemsworth’s video has since garnered more than 22,000 retweets. And it received two thumbs up from Cyrus, 25, herself, who replied with three love hearts. “Epic,” she wrote.
There has been speculation that the pop star wrote the 2014 hit about Chris’ brother Liam Hemsworth. (Cyrus and Liam, who met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, became engaged in 2012, but split in 2013. Cyrus and the Independence Day: Resurgence star resumed their relationship in 2016 and are once again set to wed.)
Though the former Voice coach has denied “Wrecking Ball” is about Liam, 28, fans have been pointing out the irony of Chris’ video.
“There’s just so much to unpack here? Didn’t Miley write this song about Liam? I guess this means it’s not awkward when he listens to it???” tweeted one person. Added another: “We stan a legend who sings a song specifically made for his brother by his ex current fiancee.”
