Cyrus and Hemsworth sparked rumors that they had wed during the Australian getaway. However a source confirmed to Us Weekly that they have not yet walked down the aisle.
Cyrus stunned in a matching white Tee Ink bikini for the outing. The “Malibu” singer slammed pregnancy rumors two months earlier after fans suspected she had a bump. “Rude!!!” she wrote on Instagram in November. “Not pregnant just eating a s–t ton of tofurkey.”
While Liam’s brother, Chris Hemsworth, raved about Cyrus, he also shut down wedding rumors surrounding the couple, explaining on SiriusXM's Sway in the Morning on January 16: "They're not officially married.”
The Disney alum and The Hunger Games star started dating after they met on the set of 2010’s The Last Song. Hemsworth proposed in May 2012, but they called off the engagement in September 2013. Two years later, the couple got back together and Cyrus was spotted wearing her Neil Lane engagement ring soon after.
Cyrus looked lovingly at Hemsworth, who she recently wrote on Instagram is her “very best friend on the entire planet!”
Hemsworth talked about their split during an interview with GQ Australia in May 2016. “We were both going in different directions and it's just what needed to happen,” he said at the time. “We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time — we both needed that."
Cyrus opened up in May 2017 about the positive aspects of her split from Hemsworth, explaining that they both needed to grow individually. “I know that everything is happening for the right reason,” Cyrus said on SiriusXM’s Hits 1 radio show. “And I knew that when we weren’t together the first time — I didn’t know if that was the end of it, or knew if we were going to get back together again, but knew that wherever I was going I was on the right path.”
