Hey girl, of course he changes diapers! Eva Mendes has yet to share a photo of her daughter, Esmeralda, but she’s opening up about motherhood more and more. During a recent sit-down with the Today show, the Lost River actress said she loves being an example to her baby girl, whom she and Ryan Gosling welcomed last year.
“If I’m even like, ‘Oh, what should I wear? Or, should I do this project?’ All I have to think about is my daughter and her face and I know the answer immediately,” Mendes, 41, told co-host Natalie Morales in the interview, which aired on Friday, Oct. 9. “She’s my moral compass in a way.”
Us Weekly broke the news in September 2014 that Mendes and Gosling had welcomed their first child together. Last month, the couple celebrated Esmeralda’s 1st birthday with an intimate party at home.
During the Today interview, Mendes revealed that she’s taking a little break from Hollywood to spend time with her daughter. In fact, the chat with Morales was only the third time she’s ever been away from Esmeralda.
“[She’s with] papa and the family. Thank god I have my entire family 10 minutes away,” the Clear History star explained, adorably revealing Gosling’s daddy nickname. She also said that they don’t have a babysitter and the hunky actor, 34, does his fair share of diaper changes.
She quipped: “I mean, that’s a given these days!”
