Fergie will be outnumbered in her household when she gives birth to her first child with husband Josh Duhamel — because the couple’s baby-to-be is a boy! Duhamel, 40, revealed their baby’s gender for the first time on a pre-taped episode of Live! With Kelly and Michael airing on Wednesday July 17. As Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan held up pink and blue onesies in front of the Safe Haven star, he teased the audience, quipping, “What do you guys think, boy or girl?”
After some playful back and forth, Duhamel grabbed the blue option as the crowd cheered. Married to the Black Eyed Peas singer, 38, since 2009, Duhamel recently told ET Canada that they couple feels “ready” for parenthood. “I actually look forward to that.”
“I plan on taking [off] as much time as I can just before and as much time as possible after,” added the star. “I can’t imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there. That would just drive me crazy. My head would be at home with mom and baby.”
For her part, Fergie (who’s planning on changing her legal name from Stacey Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel), has said her manhas been “so nice and wonderful” during her pregnancy. “He sings and talks to my belly all the time. He’s very complimentary. I’m very lucky that he’s really good to me.”
