“It’s never easy,” the E! News coanchor, 44, told Us Weekly exclusively on Friday, May 17. “I think any parent can agree that it’s never easy, but for me, what I try to do is something called the 100/100 rule. When I’m at work, I give 100 percent of my attention and focus to work. Things come up, of course, [like] personal issues and that’s important, but I really focus at work. I don’t suddenly go, ‘Oh, wait a second, I forgot whatever,’ and do some shopping. Like, I love talking to my mom — we’re really close — but I try not to do that at work.”

The Emmy winner added: “When I come home, I put the phone away right when I get home and give all my attention to my family. If work things come up, I check my phone and make sure everything’s OK, but it helps having that rule to relax and focus. Whatever I’m doing, I give it 100 percent. For me, it gives me a little more balance.”

The G by Giuliana creator and her husband, Bill Rancic, also make time for date night — but often do it right at home. “That means wine and TV, maybe dessert after dinner,” the Going Off Script author told Us. “We walk down the street on random nights and catch up. We just talk about work, talk about our lives, check in a lot.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2007, welcomed Duke in 2012 via surrogate. Their little one is now very interested in STEM and technology, joining Giuliana and Bill at the Museum of Science and Industry earlier this month to play with Learning Resources’ Beaker Creatures toys alongside 150 children from Chicago public schools.
