Team effort! Hayden Panettiere and her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, split in August 2018, but still coparent their 4-year-old daughter, Kaya — and the actress says everything is “going well.”

The Nashville alum, 29, and the former pro boxer, 42, “get along” after their decade-long relationship, which has helped in raising their daughter, Panettiere told Us Weekly exclusively on Thursday, January 31, at the Sharkwater Extinction premiere, which she attended with her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson.

“We’re still respectful of each other, and we still have that friendship with each other,” she said of her coparenting partnership with Klitschko. “It’s not a situation that you find yourself in all that often, so it’s a new one. But I think we’ve done a really good job.”

Panettiere and her then-fiancé welcomed their baby girl in December 2014, one year after Us broke the news of their engagement.

Less than a year after giving birth to her baby girl, the “Telescope” singer checked into a rehab facility to treat her postpartum depression. She sought help once more in May 2016.

“The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life,” she tweeted at the time. “Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”

When it comes to raising their little one with Klitschko, “we’re trying to do the book smarts and the street smart,” the Heroes alum admitted to Us on Thursday night. “So, you know, trial and error as a parent. … We’re all going to make mistakes.”

Traveling is a big part of the tyke’s life, for example. “We go on nice long vacations that result in an email from her school saying, ‘Your kid has been gone too long,’” Panettiere said. “Like, she’s 4, so let’s not make too big a deal. She speaks multiple languages.”

Sharkwater Extinction hits theaters on March 1.
