Little People, Big World alum Jacob Roloff’s wife, Isabel Roloff, is getting candid about their family plans.
‘“I wish we could hug forever’ — Mateo the other day 🥺🫶🏻,” Isabel, 30, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, October 22, alongside a black-and-white photo of herself hugging her and Jacob’s 4-year-old son, Mateo.
Isabel continued, “I feel guilty all the time for not giving Mateo a sibling. It just hasn’t happened and I’m not sure if it ever will. There’s a certain type of guilt that comes with this… knowing my brother is my best friend even though we’re eleven years apart, and not wanting to give up.”
The former reality star added that she also wants to “close this chapter and move forward with life.”
“It comes with a lot of mixed emotions,” she wrote. “He’s a happy, healthy kid with a lot of cousins and friends, so I know he will have a wonderful life. I just can’t help but wonder what life with a brother or sister would be like for him. Sometimes I truly feel like I am failing this whole mom thing by not giving that to him. If you’ve ever navigated this sort of thing, I see you and hold space for you. 🩶.”
Jacob, 29, and Isabel tied the knot in September 2019. They welcomed Mateo in December 2021.
Isabel’s confession about having more kids comes amid a transitional time for her family. Last month, Jacob revealed that he and Isabel would be moving off the Roloff family farm in Helvetia, Oregon, where they have lived since Isabel was pregnant with Mateo. (The couple had been renting a property on the farm owned by Jacob’s father, Matt Roloff, and earned wages by maintaining the farm and caring for the animals. Matt, 65, listed 16 acres of Roloff Farms for a price cut at $2.6 million, including the portion where Jacob and Isabel live, in June.)
“I certainly tried to keep the tradition going,” Jacob said in a TikTok video in September. “There was nothing too distinguishing about our pumpkin patch beyond the show, so definitely wanted to get back to growing our own pumpkins, growing our own corn, doing a corn maze and things like that. Couldn’t really get there with management.”
Matt told People of his decision to sell the land, “I’m focused on my retirement plans and being fair to all my family members that I love and adore, including all my grandchildren.”
Isabel revealed to People earlier this month that she and Jacob were “devastated” by Matt’s decision to sell and were “hoping for a miracle” that would allow them to stay. She also reflected on the “tension” within the Roloff family, who starred on TLC’s LPBW from 2006 to 2024.
“As somebody who married into it, I’m very much like, ‘Can’t we all get along?’ But I can’t mend fences that I never broke,” she told the outlet. “We just want to continue working and living here, if possible. … We’re still encouraging people to come out because we still love the aspect of people coming out and seeing the beautiful farm. We’ve loved our time here growing flowers, growing pumpkins, growing vegetables — it would just be sad to say goodbye.”
