Jessie James Decker is one proud mom after her son took a big step forward in his Catholic faith.
“Forrest received his First Communion and our hearts are so full,” Decker, 38, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, May 3. “So proud of him✝️🙏🏽 what a beautiful special day🫶🏻✝️.”
In her latest social media post, the Kittenish founder posed with her husband, Eric Decker, and their four kids, Vivianne, 12, Eric Jr., 10, Forrest, 8, and Denver, 6.
Other photos showed Forrest in church as he prepared to receive the Body of Christ for the first time. (For Catholics, the Body of Christ primarily refers to the Holy Eucharist, which Catholics believe becomes the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ.)
“Forrest received his First Communion today,” Jessie wrote via her Instagram Story as her son posed outside of church. “So proud of him.”
Just one year ago, the country singer documented Eric Jr.’s Holy Communion at church. At the time, she called it a “special and major milestone.”
Jessie isn’t the only famous Catholic who had a family member celebrate their First Communion.

NBC Nightly News host Tom Llamas documented his son, Tomas, receiving his latest sacrament.
“Our little guy taking a big step ✝️,” he wrote via Instagram on Sunday.
Llamas’ colleagues, including Stephanie Ruhle and Vicky Nguyen, were quick to congratulate the journalist on his son’s accomplishment.
Bachelor Nation’s Michael Allio also celebrated a family member’s big day in the Catholic church over the weekend.
“Happy First Communion to my beautiful niece Gwen,” the former Bachelorette contestant shared via Instagram on Sunday. “We are beyond proud of you sweetheart. You made me one happy Godfather today! #firstcommunion #family.”
For Catholics, First Communion is a special ceremony for children receiving the Holy Eucharist for the first time. It’s also a time for kids to affirm and celebrate their faith with friends and family. The sacrament typically takes place around 7 or 8 years of age.
“Jesus calls you to be witnesses of communion, builders of bridges and sowers of trust in a world often marked by division and suspicion,” Pope Leo XIV previously told young people in November 2025 via Vatican News. “Do not be afraid, then, to show that you are Christians, to live the Gospel with enthusiasm and to share the joy that springs from encountering the Lord. Always remember the following words, and be courageous in bringing their meaning to others: ‘In every situation of our life, we will experience that we are never alone, for as children we are always loved, forgiven and encouraged by God.’”
