Jordin Sparks revealed her post-baby body just three days after giving birth to son Dana – and she’s not stopping any time soon. The singer has been keeping busy since becoming a first-time mom, more recently attending the Ladylike Scholarship Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Saturday, June 2.
“It’s been ten years [since American Idol] and now I’m a mom. It’s insane. He’s awesome. He’s squishy, lovely and so alert. He’s really friendly and smiley so I love it. He takes after me, I guess,” Sparks, 28, exclusively told Us Weekly at the event.
On how she got back into shape so quick, she added: “I have no idea, breast-feeding. I haven’t stepped foot in a gym. This may be my third time out of the house since he was born. He’s hungry all the time and I think that mixed with trying to eat as much to keep up with it all. It’s insane.”
Sparks and her husband, Dana Isaiah, welcomed son DJ on May 2. “It’s not about just me and Dana anymore. It’s about him. Every step I take, whatever decision I make, all is for his benefit and what is going to happen for his future. So that’s been insane,” Sparks told Us. “My brother tried to tell me – because he had kids before I did and I love being an auntie – I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can love anything more than I love my nieces.’ And he was like, ‘No just wait.’ He was right. I don’t even know how to describe it. My chest hurts thinking about it. I don’t know how I’m ever going to tell him no. He’s just the sweetest. It’s awesome.”
She added: “I don’t know if there is a mother anywhere that it hasn’t changed their whole world.”
Sparks and Isaiah have also been “on the same page” since becoming parents. “We don’t even have to say anything. We’re really in tune with each other right now. It’s incredible,” she gushed.
They aren’t too quick to welcome a second child, though. “I don’t know. I’m like, let me just deal with the first one and then we’ll see. I think that would probably be the most, two, whether it’s a boy or girl.”
