“Meltdowns are inevitable,” the Bachelor alum, 28, recently told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her Shades of Rose clothing line. “So normally what I do is I just lock myself in my closet and hope that I can handle it for a little bit. It’s important to take care of yourself too and have a little mom me-time.”

The former reality star, who shares her 14-month-old daughter, Alessi, with husband Arie Luyendyk Jr., has been “constantly learning” since the toddler’s May 2019 arrival.

“I’ve never done this before,” the Virginia native told Us. “I’m experiencing how much energy I have to [give] to be very involved in her life. I have to work very hard to be able to focus 100 percent on both my business and her.”

To do that, the fashion designer either wakes up “really early” before her daughter does or “stays up really late after she goes to bed.”

Burnham said, “That’s the biggest learning curve for me right now.”
She and the former Bachelor, 38, have been trying to conceive a sibling for Alessi, but Burnham suffered a miscarriage in May.

“We put a YouTube video out about it and we’ve been every open because we feel like a lot of people go through it,” she said of her pregnancy loss the following month in an Instagram Story video. “We thought it should be talked about way more than it is.”

While the Bachelor Nation members work on expanding their family, Burnham is also focusing on her Shades of Rose clothing line, launching on Tuesday, August 18.

“It’s going to be sold exclusively online in the beginning, but there will be select boutiques posting our brands too,” she told Us. “I want people to see the brand as an inspiration to embrace themselves, whether they are a different race, a different sexuality [or] they have different beliefs. I want it to be all encompassing.”
