Love Is Blind alum Taylor Krause has a message for anyone constantly wondering when she and her husband, Garrett Josemans, plan to expand their family.

“Let’s stop pushing women to have kids sooner,” Taylor, 32, began a TikTok video shared Monday, August 3. “I know it comes from a good place, but ‘When are you having kids?’ is probably the top question I get next to ‘[Are] Garrett and I still together?’”

Taylor met Garrett, 35, during Love Is Blind season 7, where they dated and got engaged in the span of 10 days without meeting face-to-face. After only two months together outside of the Netflix pods, Taylor and Garrett tied the knot in November 2023. (Their Love Is Blind journey aired one year later.)

After her six-week courtship, Taylor felt pressured to become a mom right away.

“Generally as a 32-year-old woman, I feel this immense pressure to have kids soon, which I find super annoying because we’re, as women, trying to not get pregnant from ages 18 to 30 and then it’s like, ‘Get pregnant, get pregnant,’” Taylor acknowledged on Monday. “Personally, I got married on TV after six weeks, which was insane.”

While Taylor remains “thankful” the Netflix experiment introduced her to The One, she wants to take her time before welcoming kids.

I’m waiting to have kids until my late 30s 🧠🌸💘Pt 1 of my Baddie Braindump series . After getting married only 6 weeks after meeting my husband (and a slew of other big life decisions that followed quickly after); I want to refuse feeling rushed about becoming a mom, but sometimes I do. I’ve wanted to start a series where I yap about my life experiences that I know a lot of other women are navigating. So first up I’m 32, and most days I don’t feel behind waiting till my late 30s to start a family, let’s talk about it. #waitingtohavekids #womenover30 #thirtysomething #baddiebraindump

“I am done making really big life decisions rushed, you know, like bringing a baby into the world,” the reality TV alum stated. “I do want kids. I really want kids one day, just in my late 30s. I feel like whenever I say that, I constantly get pushed back about why that’s a bad idea. One of the things is, ‘Don’t you want more time with them when you’re older?’ [or] ‘You don’t want to have a complicated pregnancy’ [and] ‘You don’t want to be a really old parent.’”

In response to the onslaught of questions, Taylor noted that she’s already “thought through these things” offline.

“I just don’t feel ready, [and] I feel like, they always say, ‘You’re never ready to become a parent,’ but I feel like if I do it too soon, then I might resent my kids or resent being a mom,” Taylor added. “I really want to love and savor that process. I’m not putting anyone down that’s asking that question. I think it’s a very normal question, I know it comes from a really good place … but it’s a good perspective to think about. The perspective being that, ‘This is such a normal question that we ask women, [but] are we contributing to women feeling like their value is, maybe, tied to having kids and might make people feel a certain way?’”
