“I’m so incredibly grateful, not only for my ex-husband, but for all of the work that we’ve put in to be able to have the kind of conversations we have to have,” the Big Bang Theory alum, 44, exclusively told Us on Wednesday, August 12, while promoting Royal Canin’s Take Your Cat to the Vet initiative. “We’re essentially quarantining together in two houses, meaning we’re the only people that we see and our kids go between two houses.”

The actress went on to say that this has been “working” for her, Stone and their two sons — Miles, 14, and Frederick, 11.

“It’s actually been a really beautiful opportunity for us to also see where we don’t align,” Bialik added. “He’s much stricter than I am. He practically takes out a tape measure when my mom comes over. … At least we can all talk about it. We laugh about it. I’m super, super grateful for that.”

She and Stone tied the knot in 2003 and finalized their divorce after a decade of marriage. In 2016, the neuroscientist said in a YouTube video that divorce isn’t “the end of a family.”

“It’s the end of a nuclear family,” the California native explained at the time. “It’s the end of a family living in one house. But we still have responsibilities to each other’s families, and to our children as a family. I still talk to my ex-husband’s mother, father, grandparents, aunts and uncles.”

While quarantining with their children, Bialik is also spending a lot of time with her cats — and encouraged other feline owners to take their pets to the vet despite the COVID-19 spread. “A lot of people assume that cats are so self-sufficient that like, we’ll figure it out, but cats can often hide things that are wrong with them,” she told Us. “It’s great to just get them in the habit of going for preventative care visits.”
