Mila speaks! After months of silence on her pregnancy and engagement to Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis finally opened up about both during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show set to air Friday, May 9. Click here to see more pics of Mila.
The Jupiter Ascending actress, 30, talked for the first time about expecting a baby with her fiance, telling DeGeneres they already have a name picked out for the little one. (They’re keeping the moniker a secret for now, but as Us Weekly revealed earlier, they’re having a girl.) She also revealed her “very stereotypical” pregnancy craving.
“I eat sauerkraut all day long,” the mom-to-be confessed. “This is the worst craving to have because sauerkraut smells and so every time you open up a jar, it just reeks in the whole kitchen…It’s not like ice cream where everything smells lovely.”
Another cliched craving? Pickles! “I’ll tell you a funny story,” she said. “[Ashton] kind of preempted this. He assumed that I was gonna have goofy cravings, so he stocked our secondary fridge with weird food—just, like, pickles and sauerkraut, or, like anchovies and ice creams—just in case at one point during this pregnancy I’d be like, ‘I really want something.'”
“And it happened last week!” she continued. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, I need a pickle. Like, it was just the weirdest thing. I needed this pickle. And he was like, ‘Hold on a second,’ and disappeared in the backyard and came back with the most amazing dill pickle of all time.”
Kutcher has been catering to her other needs, too, and is even learning to speak Russian because Kunis speaks Russian. “He’s been taking classes for probably like six months now,” she told DeGeneres of the Two and a Half Men actor. “He does it twice a week. A woman comes to the house to give him lessons…It’s really, really great.”
As for what they’re going to do when the baby comes, the That ’70s Show alum said she wants a natural birth. “We watched a couple of documentaries and we looked into the…midwife aspect of it and things, and spoke to my OB/GYN and realized that the hospital that I’m going to be laboring in does a midwife, you know, doula type of thing,” she explained. “So I’m gonna do it as all-natural as I possibly can unless there’s an emergency or something.”
“I mean, I did this to myself—I might as well do it right,” she quipped. “I wanted this. It’s not like no one made me do this.” Then, acknowledging Kutcher’s role in the pregnancy, she joked, “I did have a little help. Just a little bit.”
