This Is the Swimsuit Photo One Mom Was Scared to Share

Mom blogger Olivia White proudly shared an unretouched photo of her post-baby body on Facebook in July 2016. “Puffy face, droopy milk filled boobs, wider hips and a belly full of stretch marks,” wrote the Melbourne, Australia-based mom, who had given birth just five months earlier. “That’s my post baby reality, no ‘bouncing back’ here!”

But White almost didn’t post a swimsuit picture from a recent vacation in Victoria with her husband and their two daughters because she hated how her stomach looked.

“As much as I try to be self-confident and be positive about my appearance, it’s not just a switch and one day you’re completely 110 percent okay with yourself,” began White in a Tuesday, November 28, Instagram post, where she is seen sitting on the the beach in a bikini with 21-month-old Teddy.

White explained she has “good and bad days” when it comes to how she feels about her body. “But you can’t stop, especially when you have little eye watching you,” she wrote. “You just have to keep reminding yourself everyday that you’re amazing no matter what anyone else or your own brain tries to trick you into thinking.”

“This is a beautiful moment between my daughter and I,” White continued. “A memory I want to treasure forever and nothing can ruin that.”

Her message received hundreds of comments. “Beautiful momma . . . I love ‘in the moment’ unfiltered photos. Social media is so staged. Thanks for being real,” wrote one woman. Added another: “One day she’ll look at this photo and think — ‘Gee, my mum was a babe!’ If only we could see ourselves through their eyes
