Natalie Portman is gearing up to welcome her third baby, her first with partner Tanguy Destable.
“Tanguy and I are very excited,” Portman, 44, told Harper’s Bazaar on Friday, April 17. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle. I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant. I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing.”
She continued, “I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”
Portman and Destable, 45, have been together since early 2025.
“Natalie and Tanguy have been seeing each other for a few months,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2025. “They are having a great time together.”
According to the insider, Portman met the French musician through mutual friends following her divorce from Benjamin Millepied. The actress and Millepied, 48, were married from 2012 to 2023, separating after the director was accused of infidelity.

“After news of his affair came out, they’ve been trying to work on their marriage,” a second source told Us in August 2023. “[They] are currently on the outs.”
Portman and Millepied, who share son Aleph and daughter Amalia, finalized their divorce in March 2024.
“They’re being very civil toward each other for the kids,” a third insider told Us at the time.
Neither Portman nor Millepied have publicly addressed their divorce or coparenting arrangement. Portman, meanwhile, has long touted motherhood as one of her greatest achievements.
“My kids are always a source of excitement, because you just see them develop into the individuals they are,” she told Interview magazine in April 2025. “Also, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, with their kids and my kids; that’s pretty fun.”
Portman further explained how she balances her Hollywood career with parenting.
“Having kids, that wasn’t really my motivation,” Portman told the outlet. “I was just excited to have kids, and with a person that I was in love with. It’s really important to have people in your life who keep you on the ground.”
Portman met Millepied while filming their 2009 ballet movie, Black Swan.
“I met my husband on it, so I think I was in, like, dreamland,” Portman recalled during a SiriusXM Town Hall interview in 2018. “He was teaching me to dance. You know, one of those romantic [stories]. … It was definitely exciting and fun. It was beautiful. I don’t know about instant. It was like I really got to know him and that was when it seemed like, ‘Oh this is the person.’”
Portman and Millepied welcomed son Aleph in 2011, months after she won the Oscar for her role in Black Swan.
“Everyone was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to pop.’ I was like, ‘I’m four months pregnant,” Portman recalled on the “Dish From Waitrose” podcast in May 2025 of attending the Academy Awards amid her pregnancy. “Everyone was like, ‘You must be giving birth tomorrow. Hope it doesn’t happen on the red carpet.’ I was like, ‘I’ve got five more months to go.’”
She added at the time, “I couldn’t drink at all during all of those events, which was hard. It’s a lot of stress. It’s a lot of attention. … And I was sober while everyone else was not.”
Portman and Millepied later expanded their family with daughter Amalia in 2017.
