Olivia Culpo is making plans for a hopefully smooth delivery.
“This is officially the third trimester,” Culpo, 34, began a Thursday, July 23, video shared via TikTok. “I’m having a C-section because I had a C-section in July last year, so having a VBAC [vaginal birth after cesarean] wasn’t an option.” (Many doctors recommend waiting for at least 18 to 24 months before attempting a VBAC after a C-section due to risk of uterine rupture.)
Culpo and her husband, Christian McCaffrey, announced in May that they are expecting their second baby just one year after welcoming daughter Collette in summer 2025.
Culpo explained that she scheduled her C-section so McCaffrey, 30, could be present amid his busy NFL schedule.
“I scheduled it on a day Christian has a slightly easier [day], basically it’s not an off-day for him,” Culpo said of the San Francisco 49ers running back, who began training camp earlier this month. “He’ll be able to come just for the birth and then, aside from that, he’ll have to go back. So, it’s going to be different than my first birth. I will be without my husband.”

Despite accommodating McCaffrey’s football schedule, Culpo praised her “village” of friends, family and a nanny to step in amid his absence.
“A common misconception is that football season starts in September when all the games start, but it really doesn’t,” she further clarified. “It starts at the end of July because that’s when they go to camp and it just goes right into the season.”
@oliviadangerculpo Lots of changes, updates and surprises this week!
Elsewhere in her TikTok update, Culpo revealed her pregnancy “feels different” yet somewhat similar to when she was expecting Collette, 13 months.
“I think I’m having a boy, [and] I think it’s going to look exactly like my brother, Gus [Culpo],” she speculated about the sex of her unborn baby. “I’ve actually been so emotional lately. Christian’s leaving for the season, [which] is so sad. Everything feels overwhelming.”
In addition to planning for her infant’s arrival, Culpo has kept busy by organizing the family’s new house.
“I’ve been renovating this house for a year now. We kind of moved in at the beginning of this week,” the Picolette founder added on Thursday. “I cried for the entire day straight. … Moving with a small child, you have to consider their adjustment period, and Collette is in a new crib, her SlumberPod doesn’t fit over it. … If anyone has any advice on that, I will be thinking of you at 3 and 4 in the morning when I hear her crying.”
