Amy Schumer Jokes About Wearing a Swimsuit Next to Kate Hudson: ‘That’s Me. That’s Not, Like, a Guy’

Amy Schumer is all of Us. The funnywoman poked fun at herself on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, December 12, after she was photographed in a swimsuit next to Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn.

According to Schumer, it was a dream come true to work alongside Hawn in their upcoming untitled mother-daughter flick in Hawaii earlier this year. But being photographed next to Hawn’s toned daughter Hudson during a day off wasn’t quite as much fun, she explained.

“I have been the biggest Goldie fan forever. … She’s been such a huge idol forever … so I begged her to do the movie … and we had the best time,” Schumer told DeGeneres while recalling that she also “got to hang with Kate Hudson.”

“[She’s] so fun,” Schumer said of the Almost Famous star. “They were like, ‘Do you want to go swim with the dolphins?’ And I was like ‘Mmmkay?’ … And so we went and on my bucket list, high up on the list, was to be photographed in a bathing suit next to Kate Hudson,” she joked. “That was really cool. And Goldie, like Goldie, is in her seventies and I’m like the ‘friend.’”

The comedian was referring to photos paparazzi caught of the trip. In one of the snaps, Hudson can be seen jumping off the boat in a blue bikini with her abs on full display as Schumer and Hawn watch from above in matching black one-pieces.

“I’m the friend, ‘Amy will take the pictures,'” she jokingly added as Ellen showed another photo of the Trainwreck star crouched down on the bow of the boat taking snaps of Hudson jumping off the boat. “That’s me. That’s not like a guy in the front of the boat.”

Jokes aside, Schumer has been criticized in the past for her appearance by online trolls. The actress most recently defended herself against body-shamers who said she shouldn’t play Barbie in the recently announced upcoming live-action film about the iconic — and not proportional — doll. Alongside a photo of herself in her one-piece from Hawaii, Schumer wrote that she is “strong and proud.”
