Amy Schumer and her new-husband Chris Fischer may have had a quick road to the altar, but not for the reason you might think. After Us Weekly exclusively confirmed the duo tied the knot, the Trainwreck star took to Instagram to tell fans that she is not pregnant.
“No gifts but consider a donation to @everytown,” Schumer captioned a message on Thursday, February 15, via Instagram. “2 things … No I’m not pregnant … and not gifts but thank you for asking,” Schumer’s post reads.
“Instead please consider s (sic) a donation to everytown for gun safety. Thought of Mayce and Jillian a lot yesterday and sending love to everyone who has been affected by gun violence,” the comedian wrote, referencing the fatal school shooting in Florida on Thursday, February 14.
As previously reported, Schumer, 36, married Fischer, 37, in Malibu on Tuesday, February 13. The newlyweds were first spotted together in November at a candlelit dinner in New York. Us broke the news later that month that the Inside Amy Schumer star and the chef were officially dating.
Their romance remained under wraps until the pair attended a taping of Jessica Chastain’s episode of Saturday Night Live in January. Schumer posted her first photo with Fischer just days before their wedding.
“Happy Birthday @theellenshow thank you for having us!” she captioned the shot of her kissing Fischer at Ellen DeGeneres’ 60 birthday party on February 11.
A source told Us that the couple’s big day was “very chill” and “thrown together last minute.”
“Most of the guests found out the wedding was happening on Tuesday from a text message sent out by Amy on Sunday,” the source explained. “It was like, ‘Hey, this is happening. If you can make it, great. If not, no worries.’ People were in and out all night. It was a gorgeous day. Everyone was having a good time.”
Schumer shared photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Jake Gyllenhaal and her sister Kim Caramele from her nuptials on Thursday. Other celebrities in attendance included Jennifer Aniston, Larry David, Judd Apatow and David Spade.
