Grammy-nominated R&B singer Angie Stone has been arrested after allegedly knocking out several of her daughter Diamond's teeth
R&B singer Angie Stone has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after an altercation with her daughter Diamond in Lithonia, Ga., the Associated Press reported on Tuesday, March 10.
The "Heartbreaker" singer was arrested in Miami Beach early on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, on suspicion of drag racing, DUI and driving with an expired license. A police report stated that he resisted without violence before being taken into custody.
DeKalb County police told the AP that Stone, 53, is accused of using a metal stand to knock out several of her daughter’s teeth. She told officers that she did so in self-defense, after Diamond allegedly punched her in the face.

According to the AP, the argument began when Stone told Diamond to “clean up and get her children under control.” It ended when a family friend intervened.

Stone is best known for songs including “No More Rain (In This Cloud),” “I Wanna Thank Ya,” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You.” She also earned Grammy nominations in 2003, 2005, and 2008 for the tunes “More Than a Woman,” “U-Haul,” and “Baby.”
