Careful! On Monday, May 4, Anna Wintour was the woman of the hour at the 2015 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute benefit, which is commonly known as the Met Gala. The Vogue editor-in-chief was the first to arrive at the elite NYC event, but was nearly run down en route to the red carpet.
“As she was crossing the street, a man on a bike almost hit her and the biker had to be stopped by security,” an eyewitness tells Us Weekly.
Wintour, 65, continued to the red carpet, seemingly unbothered, but the cyclist in question was taken away by the police.
The minor mishap didn’t stop Wintour from stunning on the red carpet in a flower-covered gown with giant red floral sleeves. This year’s theme is “China: Through the Looking Glass.”
