Donald Trump’s Walk of Fame Star Has a Wall Built Around It, Because Of Course It Does

How fitting! Street artist Plastic Jesus built a wall around Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to reflect the Republican presidential nominee’s threat to build a wall on the southern border of the United States to block Mexican immigrants from entering the country.

In a Wednesday, July 20, interview with The Huffington Post, Plastic Jesus — who declined to use his real name — explained what went into his politically charged piece of work. “I try to approach art in a way that won’t offend people too much,” he said. “I just want to get them thinking about policy, and politics and news.”

The installation — a 6-inch-tall gray concrete wall with teeny-tiny barbed wire around the top — is stamped with miniature versions of Plastic Jesus’ signature street art: images of Jesus Christ and itty-bitty signs that read “Stop Making Stupid People Famous.”

“Since it’s my wall, I thought I’d put my own street art on it,” said the artist, who installed the wall on Tuesday, July 19. Plastic Jesus explained that his composition is not a critique of Trump, 70, himself, but of his political agenda.

“I wanted to move things on with a different level,” he shared. “I don’t try to attack people on a personal level. I try to attack their policy or their attitude. Otherwise it’s kind of vindictive. Personally, I’ve got nothing against Donald Trump. I have everything against his policies and the culture he’s trying to create in America.”

While the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host and his campaign have yet to acknowledge the wall, many L.A. tourists and onlookers have stopped to pose next to and snap photos of Plastic Jesus’ artwork.

After the artist posted a pic of his masterpiece on Instagram, hundreds of commenters shared their appreciation for his political expression.
