Shield your eyes, mom and dad! Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe knew the explosive Monday, June 22, episode (in which she had sex with Nick Viall) was coming, and asked her parents to refrain from watching.

"They were very mentally prepared for that one," the Season 11 Bachelorette told ABC News. "I asked them, 'Can we all just not watch?'"

After a steamy one-on-one date during their first night in Ireland, a flirtatious Bristowe, 30, and Viall went back to her hotel room where they did the deed. While many viewers (and, in next week's episode, the suitors) were none-too-pleased by Bristowe's hookup, the Bachelorette told ABC News that her parents were more understanding.

"I talked to them after, and they're super supportive," she revealed. "They're very laid-back people and yeah, it's all good."

Bristowe, who defended the tryst via Twitter during the episode, told ABC News that she had simply taken advantage of the moment, and that her relationship with 34-year-old Viall happened to move "a little quicker than the others."

Of her arguably slut-shaming critics, the reality star reflected: "I think I would challenge anybody to date that many guys at once and not make a mistake especially when it's being filmed the whole time."

Like Bristowe, Viall expressed no regrets about their decision to sleep together. "Kaitlyn showed a lot of courage by admitting 2 having sex on national TV knowing that she will be unfairly judged by some. #TheBachelorette," the finalist on Andi Dorfman's season tweeted. "Both men and women have an equal right to have sex without judgement #TheBachelorette #bachelorette."

Among her plethora of suitors, one particularly surprised Bristowe — and not in a good way.

"[Ian] attacked my character," she told ABC News of the Princeton grad calling her out as shallow. "The whole time I was like, 'This guy's really here for me. He actually snuck me a couple notes through it telling me how serious he was about me. I think he could tell I wasn't feeling it as much and i don't think he's used to that with girls, apparently… I think he'd be the worst 'Bachelor' in all of history. Worse than Juan Pablo [Galavis] actually!"
