It’s safe to say Bailey Taylor Brown didn’t have the best experience on Nick Viall’s podcast.
“The whole time, I walked in and you s*** on me,” she said while calling out Viall, 45, during a Tuesday, April 21, episode of the “She’s All Bach” podcast. “It was horrible,” Brown, who first appeared on Grant Ellis’ season 29 of The Bachelor, remarked about her “Viall Files” interview in February. “My mom was listening, Jeremy [Simon] was listening, they were both very upset.”
Brown went on to claim that Viall said something “foul” to her while recording. “It was something like, ‘Oh, Bailey’s here, Rachel [Recchia] is here, you guys both know what it’s like to be second best to Susie [Evans].”
“Normally, I’m a very confident person,” Brown explained. “I’m not afraid to stand up for myself, but I was also so taken aback by that statement immediately that I was like, ‘Holy s***, I don’t wanna talk on this podcast. He made me seem like I’m a second-class citizen to Susie, who’s my friend.”
Brown also noted that she didn’t “appreciate” Viall “lopping Rachel” into the situation. “I just thought that was really foul on both of us.”
She continued, “So many people say how his podcast is not good for women to go on and I should’ve listened to them and not gone on the podcast, but in the moment, it’s so hard to say what you should’ve, could’ve done.”
Viall’s remark comes after Simon and Brown were exploring their connection on season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise. When Evans, 32, entered the villa, Simon was interested in pursuing a relationship with her but she decided to leave. He then called her and asked her to return, and even told Brian Autz that he would propose to her “on the spot.”
After she declined the invitation, Simon continued to develop feelings for Brown, with whom he is still in a relationship.
Recchia, 30, and Evans were both finalists on Clayton Echard’s season 26 of The Bachelor. Evans left the show during Fantasy Suite week and Echard, 32, subsequently broke up with Recchia and Gabby Windey to pursue Evans.
Following the show, Echard and Evans moved in together and announced their split in September 2022.
Brown and Simon later opened up about their time in Paradise, writing in a joint Instagram post, “Though our time in paradise wasn’t without its challenges, we truly believe everything happens for a reason. Every step, every moment, has led us to this incredible place together. We feel so lucky to have found each other and couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.”
