No green thumb necessary! With summer fast approaching, it’s time to schedule those backyard parties — and Bachelorette alum Chris Lambton and his wife, Peyton Wright Lambton – have you covered. Us Weekly asked the hosts of DIY’s Yard Crashers and HGTV’s Going Yard the best way to spruce up your space, and their tips are remarkably simple.
First up: Don’t be afraid of outdoor entertaining, says Lambton. “If you’re a first-time homebuyer and it’s small because it’s your starter house, use the backyard. You can double the size of your house and have friends over. If they destroy the backyard, it’s okay, because it’s not the living room!” he tells Us.
An example of the perfect personalized touches for Bachelor fans? A rose garden and small TV for outdoor viewing.
Wright, who appeared on The Bachelor and married Lambton in 2012, tells Us that if pruning roses isn’t your thing, there are many other ways to add hints of greenery.
Ivy and especially succulents are nearly black thumb-proof. Says Wright: “They’re really hard to kill and you only have to water them once a month.”
