From final rose to first dance!
Season 20 Bachelor Ben Higgins and fiancée Lauren Bushnell, who got engaged during last November’s finale taping in Jamaica, “will get married very soon, probably this summer,” a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “It would be an ABC special.”
Since the finale aired in March, an insider close to the business analyst, 28, and the flight attendant, 25, says the pair have been “very happy.” “They’re making it work a lot better than past people have done in their shoes,” adds the source.
And they’re eager to invite fans — and franchise alums — to their big day.
“We want to share our life with everyone who’s been supportive,” Portland, Oregon, native Bushnell, who recently moved into Higgins’ Denver home, told Us in March. “And that includes Bachelor Nation.”
The duo would be the fifth Bachelor/Bachelorette couple to say “I do” on air. Trista and Ryan Sutter took the plunge in 2003; Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney wed in 2010; Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum tied the knot in 2012; and Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici exchanged vows in January 2014.
Aside from knowing their nuptials will take place on TV, Higgins and Bushnell are still working out other details.
“We haven’t discussed places, let alone like a date,” Bushnell continued to Us. “But my parents are in Portland. I was born and raised there. I don’t think that Ben or myself would rule anything out of this point and Portland has some of the best summers.”
