Look out, Gwyneth! Blake Lively is following fast in the footsteps of Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow and is set to launch her own lifestyle brand in the very near future, she announced on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
"It's something that will be launching in a few months and that I'm really, really thrilled about," the actress told Vogue UK. "The main element of it is that it's about storytelling and it's about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There's nothing like it out there — it's without a genre."
Lively, 26, has been largely keeping out of the spotlight recently, preferring instead to hole up with husband Ryan Reynolds, 36, at home in Bedford, N.Y. The actress admitted to the magazine that she's "in a different place" in her life than where she was for the six years she played an Upper East Side socialite on Gossip Girl, which concluded last December.
"I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don't utilize when acting," she said. "Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of got into it by default, but there was so much that I cultivated, thinking that I wouldn't be an actor."
"It has been nice to have a separation from my show," she added.
Though Lively didn't detail exactly what her new company would entail, her description has publications speculating that it will be similar to Paltrow's successful Goop empire (the site turns five this month), which includes cookbooks, curated wardrobes, and other lifestyle flares, all with Paltrow's special touch.
