After all these years, Bob Saget still has nothing but love for his TV daughters. The Full House alum wasn’t in attendance at former costar Mary-Kate Olsen‘s wedding to Olivier Sarkozy on Friday, Nov. 27, but he sent his best to the bride via private message.
“I was not invited, but I’m very happy, and I sent a mazel tov text,” the comedian, 59, told Today‘s Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, and Natalie Morales on Monday, Nov. 30, of the nuptials, which were held in an outdoor garden at a private residence in New York City.
“I’m very happy,” the actor added on Today, where he was promoting his Broadway show, Hand to God. “I love her very much, and I hope they’re happy.”
Saget starred as Danny Tanner, a widower and dad of three girls, on the ’90s sitcom Full House. Mary-Kate and her twin sister, Ashley, shared the role of his youngest daughter, Michelle Tanner.
As previously reported, fashion designer Olsen, 29, and French banker Sarkozy, 46, said “I do” before approximately 50 guests on the day after Thanksgiving. A source told Us Weekly the ceremony was “small and lovely,” with both sets of parents present.
The newlyweds, who first stepped out together in 2012, got engaged in February 2014. They’re frequently spotted sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden or strolling through the streets near their $6.25 million townhouse.
