Dancing With the Stars pro Brandon Armstrong has sustained a tour-ending injury.

“OK, y’all: No easy way to say this and, honestly, I’m super bummed but you can tell I’m hurt,” Armstrong, 31, said in a Saturday, April 25, social media video featuring the dancer wearing a sling across one arm. “I’ve been dealing with a little problem in my elbow for awhile and then a few shows ago I was doing a little thing and it just went south.”

He continued, “Long story short, I have a broken elbow. Could be a lot worse, could obviously be a lot better. I spoke with the doctor and I’ve been counseled from that doctor and the team on tour that I need to go home and look at it and try to figure it out, see what the next steps are taken so I can get healthy again.”

Armstrong and several of his fellow DWTS pros embarked on a new live tour at the start of this year.

“I remember when I was first on the show [and] I didn’t get the opportunity to go on tour. I saw my friends going out and performing live, but really getting to meet [the fans] every night,” Armstrong said, referring to his previous tenure in the troupe. “I wanted that so bad. I wanted to be able to meet you guys and interact with you, so me not being able to finish this tour, especially when we’re so close, it’s so hard for me to accept that.”

Armstrong went on to say that he would “miss” the remaining fan meet-and-greets in his tour absence.

“I think that’s the hardest thing for me, but the good news is me going home a little bit early is going to allow me to get healthy sooner,” the dancer stated. “[At] the end of the summer, I cannot wait to come out and see you guys at Con. I can’t wait to come out there, dance for you guys.”

DWTS is slated to host its first-ever fan convention in Palm Springs, California, from July 31 to August 2.

“It’s really cool because it’s never been done before,” reigning mirrorball champ Witney Carson said on Good Morning America in February, announcing the convention. “It’s a three-day, immersive [experience], an amazing convention that we’re really excited about. You’re gonna have access to pros and celebrities, which is really fun, and we’re just really excited to see you guys there.”

Armstrong is among the pros and former celebrity contestants scheduled to appear at the convention.

“Again, thank you so much for the well-wishes, the prayers, the thoughts,” he concluded on Saturday. “They honestly go a mile, and I can’t wait to see you at the end of the summer and hopefully next tour. Love you guys.”

DWTS was also recently renewed for season 35, featuring reality TV favorites Maura Higgins and Ciara Miller. The rest of the cast has not been announced.
