The Valley alum Jax Taylor is addressing his now-viral fake brand partnership.

“A few weeks ago, I accepted what I believed was a legitimate campaign opportunity through a third party influencer platform, like many creators use,” Jax, 47, wrote in a Friday, July 31, statement shared via social media. “I received the offer, emails, creative brief and deliverables. I trusted a platform that turned out not to be legitimate.”

He continued, “As soon as I was notified that the campaign was unauthorized, I removed the content immediately. I have never and would never intentionally misrepresent a partnership.”

Jax recently posted a photo seemingly promoting Smartwater, captioning his post with a “Partner” hashtag. Once it came to light that the sponsorship was illegitimate, the Bravo star subsequently deleted the upload.

“What’s been most upsetting is seeing an honest mistake become pure entertainment in an attempt to humiliate me,” Jax wrote on Friday, referring to fan social media comments and a mention on Brittany Cartwright’s “When Reality Hits” podcast about the incident. “Regardless of where we stand personally, we’re still the parents of a young child and there should be a certain level of respect.”

Jax and Brittany, 37, have been separated since 2024, continuing to coparent 5-year-old son Cruz. Their divorce is ongoing with the exes claiming that the proceedings are nearly finalized.

“I’ve stayed quiet for a long time, out of respect for her as the mother of our son,” Jax continued in his Friday statement. “It hasn’t been easy not having a voice, especially when so much has been said publicly about me. What hurts the most is feeling like no matter how hard I work to rebuild my life, move forward or earn new opportunities, there are constant attempts to tear those opportunities away.”

Jax also alleged that Brittany has prevented him from earning “a living” by reportedly directing brands from forming partnerships with him. She has denied the accusations.

“I’m the one who REALLY has stayed quiet. Keep blaming me with no accountability for your own actions. Not anymore,” Brittany wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday. “I speak facts and truth. Always. Leave my son out of your ridiculous statements. The countless ‘sources’ and fake accounts [are] hardly staying quiet.”

Brittany also acknowledged mentioning Jax’s influencer scandal on her podcast in the first place.

“I opened that DM [about the situation] LIVE while recording a podcast,” she alleged. “Blame people for their awful actions, not the person who is having to live with it daily. I’m done.”
