False alarm! Britney Spears shut down speculation that G-Eazy attempted to kiss her during their sexy performance of “Make Me …” at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards at NYC’s Madison Square Garden Sunday, August 28.

Chatting with 92.3 AMP Radio cohosts Shoboy and Nina Tuesday, August 30, the superstar, 34, opened up about the awkward moment when she seemingly dodged a smooch from the 27-year-old rapper. “No, I don’t think so,” she said. “He has a girlfriend!”

Though they didn’t lock lips during the steamy number (which marked Spears’ triumphant return to the VMAs stage after being absent for nearly a decade), the collaborators certainly got handsy with each other.

As viewers witnessed Sunday night, the Princess of Pop — dressed in a sparkly yellow, skin-baring bodysuit — writhed up against the hip-hop star and even placed her hand over his crotch. Earlier in the evening, the pair held hands as they walked the red carpet and embraced each other while posing for photos.

The “Just Luv Me” songstress told the station that her flirty interactions with G-Eazy (real name: Gerald Earl Gillum) were completely impromptu.

"In rehearsals, there wasn't really anything planned for us to do, so when we got there … I didn't honestly really know what I was doing, and I kind of do something similar to that in my show in Vegas, so I went on automatic with what I do performing live, and I just did what I do to the dancers in Vegas," Spears explained. "We did rehearse. We had one rehearsal. We didn't really touch each other. It was just like, 'Hey, OK, you do your thing. I'll do my thing.'"

During a Monday, August 29, interview with Z100’s Elvis Duran, the mom of Sean Preston, 10, and Jayden James, 9, couldn’t help but gush about working with Gillum. “Oh, he’s so sweet!” she raved. “He’s got a lot of swag, he’s got the whole cool thing going on.”

Spears’ ninth studio album, Glory, dropped Friday, August 26.
