Brooklyn Beckham’s ex Hana Cross is addressing his ongoing feud with his famous family.
“My time with the family caused me a lot of anxiety, in all honesty,” Cross, 28, told Hello! Magazine in an interview published on Sunday, April 12, per Page Six. “There were a lot of warning signs and things that happened during the relationship that, in hindsight, should have made me think and maybe end the relationship or walk away from it a lot sooner than I did.”
Looking back, Cross explained that she doesn’t consider her relationship with Beckham, 27, to be “a fond time” because of the pressure she felt. (Cross and Beckham dated for nine months before splitting in 2019.)
“I was only 20, 21 when we dated, and I had just started modeling, and I came from living on a farm to moving to London and being thrown into a relationship like that. It’s hard to know what’s best to do in that situation,” she explained.
While Cross has tried to “move on,” she noted that the rift with Beckham and his parents has made her revisit the time mentally.
“With the constant press that comes out, and with my name always being linked back into it, it’s hard not to be mentally drawn back into that part of my life, especially with all this feud stuff coming out,” Cross said.
Brooklyn made headlines in January when he publicly scrutinized his family, including parents David and Victoria Beckham, while reflecting on his nuptials with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham. Brooklyn claimed Victoria, 51, “hijacked” his first dance with his wife during their wedding reception and “danced very inappropriately” on him. (Us Weekly reached out to David and Victoria’s reps for comment at the time.)
While finding Brooklyn’s statement “shocking,” Cross shared that they “summed up a lot of [her] own experiences as well and the way that their family as a brand does act.”
Since Brooklyn’s statement, David and Victoria have yet to publicly address the drama but did make headlines when they publicly commemorated his birthday in March. (David and Victoria are also parents to Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.)
“Happy Birthday Bust. Love you x,” David, 50, wrote via his Instagram Story, while sharing old family photos. Victoria also shared throwback images and wrote, “Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn. I love you so much.”
Days later, a source exclusively told Us that Brooklyn “ignored David’s attempt at getting his attention with that birthday post,”
The insider added, “He thinks it’s just another way for them to save face with the public and that it did not feel meaningful.”
