Bow down to the queen! Less than three months after she joined Twitter, Caitlyn Jenner has been crowned social media royalty by none other than the teens of America.
The I Am Cait star, 65, beat out other, more experienced tweeters and Instagrammers — including Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift — to win “Social Media Queen” at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, Aug. 16.
To celebrate her victory, Jenner shared a special picture with her 2.84 million followers on Twitter. The teen-friendly shot showed her in a white top, with a Photoshopped pink crown set askew on her brunette curls, and a colorful cartoon surfboard in her grip. Against the neon ombre background, she’d written, “#thankyou,” with a picture of a heart.
“I just heard…We did it!” she captioned the photo. “Thank you so much for voting to crown this old newbie! #SocialMediaQueen #TeenChoice”
Jenner is indeed a newbie to the social media scene — especially in comparison to her competition. Music superstars Perry, Cyrus, Minaj, Gomez, and Swift are old pros at Twitter and Instagram, whereas the former Olympian joined in June, after her “Call Me Caitlyn” Vanity Fair cover debuted.
She didn’t even share her first selfie until earlier this month, when she heard she’d been nominated for the Teen Choice Award. “No #SocialMediaQueen can be crowned without posting a selfie, so here’s my first!” she captioned the pic.

Her kids and stepkids, on the other hand, could fill literal books with their selfies. In fact, stepdaughter Kim Kardashian did just that, compiling hundreds of her pics in the coffee table tome Selfish.
