Caitlyn Jenner is an open book. Now it’s time for her to write one. A source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly that publishers have been lining up to secure a book deal with the Olympian turned reality star. “They want her to do a memoir,” says an insider.
It won’t be The I Am Cait star's first time on the literary track: The 65-year-old, who revealed in April that she was transitioning into a woman, previously penned Decathlon Challenge in 1977 and the 1996 self-help guide Finding the Champion Within. But before she appears on another book jacket, sources say she’ll grace the cover of Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year issue next month.
“Caitlyn is in a really great place right now,” says a Jenner pal. “She’s very happy. Life is good.”
Life is also going to be busy. The athlete's rep confirmed to Us that Jenner will be doing motivational speeches again. The reality personality will kick off a five-city speaking tour beginning in late February, titled "Up Close and Personal," with the women's lecture series Unique Lives and Experiences.
Before she kicks off that speaking engagement, Jenner will be the keynote guest for the 7th Annual Chicago House Speaker Series next month in the Windy City. The focus of this year's series will be to highlight "the marginalization and suffering disproportionately experienced by transgender individuals," according to the Chicago House, which works to provide housing for this impacted by HIV and/or LGBTQ marginalization.
Additionally, E! announced on Thursday, Oct. 22, that the star's reality series, I Am Cait, had been renewed for a second season, to air in 2016. Season 1 concluded this past September. "I'm looking forward to continuing the conversation," she said in a statement about the news.
