Cru Eaton has requested a hearing to challenge the temporary civil stalking injunction entered against him, a source familiar with the situation exclusively tells Us.
Eaton, 33, is currently at the center of a legal battle after The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul obtained a temporary civil stalking injunction against him on July 15, alleging he engaged in a pattern of stalking by posting private videos and text messages about her on TikTok.
The temporary civil stalking injunction obtained by Us bars Eaton from contacting Paul, 32, directly or indirectly, and from posting about her online. It also prohibits conduct that could constitute stalking or harassment under Utah law, leaving the question of whether existing online posts must be removed for a future hearing. According to the document, if he does not request a hearing within the required timeframe, the injunction will remain in effect for three years.

Public court records reviewed by Us subsequently confirmed that a request for a hearing was filed in the case on July 22. While the filing itself is not publicly available, the docket indicates that an objection hearing has been scheduled for August 7.
According to the source, they chose to speak out because they believe Eaton’s ability to publicly respond is limited by the temporary civil stalking injunction. The source said they wanted to address public allegations against Eaton, including those from his ex-girlfriend Julie Theis.
Theis, a psychology-focused YouTube creator, 32, met Eaton while filming the reality dating series Secrets & Soulmates in 2025. After the two began dating, she relocated to Utah, where she spent the next two months with Eaton.
On July 9, Theis posted a video about Eaton discrediting him, claiming that he was a toxic boyfriend among other allegations.

“She called him a woman hater, woman abuser, dog killer, just a bunch of labels that are 1,000 percent false,” according to the source.
The source also explained that the pair’s relationship ended due to a “difference in values” and a different timeframe on how quickly to become official boyfriend and girlfriend. They also disputed Theis’ claim that Eaton was responsible for the death of her dog, Camilla.
According to the source, Eaton was running late to return home one night and let the dog out. The source explained that Theis was upset and wanted someone to check on Camilla sooner, prompting Eaton to suggest asking a neighbor to let the dog outside. Camilla apparently escaped after the neighbor let her out and was later struck by a vehicle.
“Cru was devastated by the loss,” the source revealed.
The source also denied Theis’ allegation that Eaton poisoned the mother of his child, calling the claim false.
“Cru’s family [has been] attacked and his name slandered to millions; he has gotten death threats and hate mail, and it has affected job opportunities,” the source explained.
While the source said it’s true that Eaton and the mother of his child were not on good terms at the time of their son’s birth, the two today apparently have a great coparenting relationship.
“He and her are better than ever, and he gets to see his son every day,” the source claimed. “That’s what happens when two people put down their ego and work it out for the kid.”
