Danny Pintauro has never been one to hide his secrets. The Who’s the Boss? alum, who came out as gay in 1997, revealed to Oprah Winfrey that he struggled with crystal meth in the past during an upcoming episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now?
In a sneak peek, Pintauro reveals to Winfrey that he began to use the drug to become less sexually inhibited in 2003.
“I had just come out of a two-year relationship and I discovered in that relationship that there was more I wanted to explore…sexually. Crystal meth takes away your inhibitions, you have no limits,” the 39-year-old actor told the talk show host. “If you want to explore that adventurous side, taking the drug is going to put you there.”
When asked how the drug affects you, Pintauro told Winfrey that it makes you “very heightened [sexually].” “The reasons you start doing it are numerous,” he added. “[But] I was experimenting.”
The former child star has since moved past the drug and found happiness in his relationship with husband, Wil Tabares, whom he married in 2014.
