Teenagers! David Beckham is still just dad to his kids, especially his eldest son Brooklyn. Victoria Beckham’s husband told British Vogue that when it comes to his 16-year-old son he has to remind him that he’s actually a pretty cool dad to have.
“With Brooklyn I keep having to remind him that I’m one of the cooler dads,” the hunk and dad of four told the magazine. “I was in his cool books for about five hours,” he added, referring to when he gifted his son with Kanye West’s coveted Kanye West x Adidas sneakers for his recent 16th birthday.
The budding model does, however, think his dad’s got style. “I had a pair of Saint Laurent leather trousers that I had never worn, and Brooklyn found them and wore them and is still wearing them,” Beckham said. “Those trousers were my trousers — and they’re definitely not any more!”
Brooklyn’s little sister Harper, 3, isn’t any better. "The second that Harper walks into the house she'll put on her ballerina outfit and a pair of Victoria's heels," the proud dad laughed. “But she'll also put the boys' football boots on, so she's got both dimensions.”
Beckham, who is also dad to sons Romeo, 12, and Cruz, 9, thinks “it's important that children have their own ideas on style and individuality.”
"They're all different — Romeo is different in so many ways, and Brooklyn and Cruz too,” the dad says. "Harper has been recognized for what she wears but she likes it — she's a funny little thing."
