Demi Lovato Celebrates Being Sober 3 Years, “Wouldn’t Be Alive” Without Wilmer Valderrama

Demi Lovato is celebrating being three years sober, and says she owes her life to her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

The former Disney star has openly admitted to struggling with bipolar disorder, substance abuse problems, and eating disorders in the past.

But three years ago she decided it was time to try and deal with her problems and her gorgeous That '70s Show boyfriend Valderrama has been behind her every step of the way.

On Sunday, March 15, Valderrama paid tribute to his brave girlfriend, sharing picture of a beautiful sunset painting via Instagram with some profound words.

"It is now 3 years since you said: I am more important then any past, demon, disorder or addiction.." he wrote. "Where you decided that YOUR life was worth living while loving yourself.. And I'm sure glad you did… I knew then the woman you've become now.. I am proud and honor to be front row to see the world you are about to change. I love you Demi"

But a few hours later, after thanking fans, family, and friends for their support and congratulations on her journey of sobriety, the "Let It Go" singer was feeling emotional about Valderrama's support — and the usually private singer wanted the world to know.

Posting an adorable photo of herself and Valderrama kissing on the lips, Lovato wrote, "I wish I could put into words how grateful I am for this man right here. But my love has grown to a level that words could never possibly express how much this man completes me. He's loved me the way I never thought I deserved to be loved and with this day marking my 3rd year sober… After sharing my ups, putting up with my downs and supporting my recovery… he still never takes credit and I want the world to know how incredible his soul is. I really wouldn't be alive today without him. I love you Wilmer."
