Police told Us that the star's assistant discovered this week that the actress' North Hollywood storage unit had been burglarized and reported the incident. According to police, Moore had not checked her storage unit in about six months, so the exact timeline of when the robbery took place remains unknown.
Authorities told Us, however, that six figures worth of inventory was estimated to have been stolen from the actress. The LAPD plans to investigate the burglary like any other, which includes checking camera footage, sweeping for fingerprints, searching for burglars and possible area suspects, and interviewing any person that comes forward with potential information.
According to TMZ, which first reported the story on Friday, Moore's storage unit showed no signs of forced entry. The site also reported that Moore's team believes the thievery was executed by someone who works at the storage space.
Moore, 52, has been preoccupied in recent months cheering on her daughter, Rumer Willis, as the scion continues to dance her way closer and closer to the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing With the Stars. Moore opened up to Us Weekly exclusively last month about how proud she was of her eldest daughter.
"It is thrilling!" she told Us. "I am so proud of her and excited for people to be seeing what I have seen since she was a little girl. She is incredibly talented, and I love seeing her light shine!"
