Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred to a new prison, Us can confirm.

Diddy, 56, was moved from the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey to the FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania on Friday, October 16. (NBC News and TMZ were first to report the news.)

“For privacy, safety and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer,” a spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons told Us in a statement.

A reason for the move was not publicly shared.

“We appreciate the Bureau of Prisons taking the safety and security of Sean and everyone involved seriously,” Diddy’s rep, Juda Engelmayer, told Us in a separate statement. “His transfer from one low-security facility to another is an important distinction, and while we cannot speak to the BOP’s specific reasons for the move, it is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind. We are grateful for the attention being given to his well-being and hope he can continue serving his time without unnecessary disruption.”

Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison at FCI Fort Dix in May 2025 after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. (The disgraced rapper, who was acquitted on other charges pertaining to racketeering and sex trafficking, has maintained his innocence throughout the legal battle.)

Just days before Diddy’s transfer, news broke that the music mogul had allegedly suffered a head injury while behind bars.

“We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances,” his rep told Us in a Monday, October 12, statement. “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”

A spokesperson for FCI Fort Dix also addressed the reported incident, telling Us, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including quarters assignment or medical status.”

Diddy’s move also comes after a recent NBC News report that he lived a “pampered” life at FCI Fort Dix, which allegedly included contraband cellphones and a secret stash of liquor.

Amid Diddy’s sentence, his legal team has filed to appeal the conviction.

“He’s focused on the appeal and looking back at his life and trying to figure out ways to improve and be a better person,” Engelmayer exclusively told Us in a June cover story. “He’s become like a paralegal, if not a lawyer already. My experience [is that] clients who are deeply involved in their cases are the ones who get further.”

Diddy has also the complete support of his children throughout the legal process.

“He’s been very focused, you know, like, being a better person for his family,” Diddy’s daughter Jessie, 19, told Entertainment Tonight in July. “He’s been very focused and he’s just always been there for us. … He’s a great dad.”

Jessie continued at the time, “We definitely are very close and he gives the best advice. We ask him all the time, like, ‘We need help on this [or] we need help on that.’ He’s always going to be there and he’s always going to tell us the right answers.”

Diddy shared Jessie and her twin sister, D’Lila, as well as sons Quincy, 35, and Christian, 28, with late ex Kim Porter. Diddy also shares son Justin, 32, with Misa Hylton, daughter Chance, 20, with Sarah Chapman and daughter Love, 4, with Dana Tran.

“Before he was incarcerated, we had a lot of conversations like that because I have a lot of strong opinions about things,” Tran, 32, exclusively told Us earlier this month about raising the pair’s toddler amid his jail sentence. “He has a lot of strong opinions about things. I’m not a one-way street. I take his opinions, obviously, into consideration, and also he’s not a first-time parent, so there are things I’ve leaned on him before because he has a lot of kids.”
