As President Donald Trump and the Republican party continue to navigate the aftermath of a historic midterm elections loss, the commander-in-chief is issuing a public plea for a close, personal friend to take on the coveted – and vital — role of White House press secretary.

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump, 80, wrote via his social media platform, Truth Social, on Saturday, November 7. “I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris.”

The president continued, “We need these people to defend us agains the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secreatary like none other. Dana, please take the job! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

In what appeared to be a response to the president’s post-midterms public plea, White, 57, share a photo of himself standing behind the press secretary’s iconic lectern inside the White House press room.

“On to the next chapter,” the UFC president and CEO wrote in the caption.

Us has reached out to both the White House and reps for White for comment regarding the job position and White’s current standing within the Trump administration, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

Trump has been on the lookout for a new press secretary after the most recent person to fulfill the role, Katie Zacharia, was relieved of her duties just five days into the job.

“Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” Trump claimed he told Zacharia, 41, of the job on the morning before she was reportedly asked to resign from her position. “Katie, do you need this? I don’t think you need this.”

“President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man,” Zacharia wrote in a social media post after she was fired. “I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to. It was an honor to work with him.”

Shortly after, the president and his politicly party endured what was described by Florida Gov. Ron Destantis as “close to an extinction-level event” after the Democrats took control of both the House and the Senate, flipping a slew of historically “red” states during the midterm elections, including Texas, Kansas, Ohio and South Carolina.

“I wasn’t on the ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” Trump wrote via Truth Social in the late hours of Tuesday, November 3, despite previously urging his supporters to vote as if he was on the ballot a reported 63 times.

Prior to the election outcome, Trump claimed he would leave the country if the U.S. electorate ever “tired” of him.

“If people ever get tired of me in the U.S., I’ll move to Israel and become prime minister,” Trump claimed during his Tuesday call into Fox & Friends.

Prior to the 2026 midterm elections, the president had a reported 34 percent approval rating.
