Erin Andrews Opens Up About IVF Journey at 47, Says She’s Confident Her ‘Body Can Do It’

Erin Andrews shared an update on her fertility journey.

“I decided to inject HGH [Human Growth Hormone], Gonal-f [follitropin alfa], and Clomid [clomiphene] and try to do another IVF round, but whatever,” Andrews, 47, shared about her ongoing efforts to expand her family during the Tuesday, April 14, episode of her “Calm Down With Erin and Charissa” podcast.

She continued, “Well, it didn’t work. Here’s my whole thing. I am crazy and I am with a doctor that said, ‘Listen, we’ll call it when it’s time.’” Andrews went on to say that she’s feeling “psychotic right now.”

“I just feel like, I believe my body can do it,” she explained. “Even though I know that my age — with what history says — is not great with producing eggs and the viability of your eggs.”

Andrews added, “There’s just some s*** in me that I’m like, ‘Watch me do it.’ It’s like a weird addiction I have.”

Andrews — who is already mom to 2-year-old son Mack shared with husband Jarret Stoll — has been candid about her fertility in the past. In 2016, Andrews was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She then froze embryos before treatment and used a surrogate to welcome Mack in 2023.

In 2024, she told E! News that she was “nervous” to try for a second baby. “And I was really, really honest with my doctor a couple of weeks ago. I just said, ‘We’ve had so much high with the birth of Mack and how great he’s doing that I don’t want to go back to that place of failure again, and I’m really, really afraid of it.'”

The sports commentator noted she’s been on a decade-long fertility journey, adding, “It’s crazy, because once you get back on the phone with your fertility doctor and you start talking about the journey again, PTSD all comes back of how crappy you felt, how numb your body gets, just the fear of loss.”

Andrews also praised Stoll, 43, for being an unwavering support throughout her journey. “My husband was really, really great after we were going through more lows than highs, just being like, ‘This sucks. This just isn’t great. I feel really crappy, and I feel like a failure,’ and that really helped a lot too,” she said.

Andrews continued, ”You have to give each other a break. You have to have patience. It’s taxing on your financials as well, which also brings stress to your marriage. It’s not cheap. It’s awful. There’s nothing about the infertility journey that I would say is great, except your end product. When you are able to have the baby and you’re like, ‘Wow, you were worth it.’”
