Fiona Apple feels just like a criminal these days . . . but for very different reasons than the ones she got famous singing about.
TMZ reports that the Grammy-winning songstress, 35, was arrested during a stop in Sierra Blanca, Texas, Wednesday when law enforcement officials discovered hashish — a potent type of marijuana — on her bus. (The site points out that the West Texas town is the same spot where Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and actor Armie Hammer have been arrested for drug possession in the past.)
Following her arrest, Apple is reportedly being held at Hudspeth County Jail. Her strange mugshot — in which the "Not About Love" crooner appears half-asleep, and wears a black-and-white striped ensemble — was released Thursday afternoon.
The critically acclaimed singer-songwriter is currently on the road promoting her highly anticipated new album, The Idler Wheel . . ., her first release since 2005's Extraordinary Machine.
